A Big One

Today was my 60th birthday ~~
I wasn't going to say anything....but since Lovella has made it public knowledge (without my permission!!! smile) I might as well own up !!!

I can't believe I am 60 years old!! I really don't feel any older than I did when I was 30 !!

My husband bought me grapes and a lovely white doves and pink lily china ornament and took me out for dinner ! (photo above) I found the Happy Birthday helium balloon tied to my front door --still a mystery who left it there !! The gladioli are from my daughter. She made a very special gluten-free luncheon for me -- girls only !!

My 9 year old granddaughter gave me a card with a yellow kitten on the front ---it said, "Don't think of yourself as getting older...just closer to perfection!!"
Then she wrote inside..."Happy 6th Birthday, Nanna! -- See you aren't as old as you thought!" (She said the '0' didn't count!!) -- I like how she thinks!!

My 10 year old granddaughter ( going on 16) whispered in my ear, "My card is more mature!" It was a very lovely 'grown-up' card !!

My daughter didn't make me feel quite as good....she wrote that she wished me a Happy Birthday on the 39th anniversary of my 21st birthday!!! That sounds OLD!! smile

I had a special day.... and I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooo thankful for all the wonderful people in my life -- family and friends and all my new 'on-line' friends !! Thank-you !! so very, very much for all your kind, thoughtful words and wishes !!! With friends like you I couldn't help but feel sooooo loved today !!
I thank God for every one of you from the bottom of my heart !!

We are back from our holidays.... I had a very enjoyable, restful vacation and I will post about it with photos tomorrow.....
We got back very late last night - 2:30 am -- and I've had a busy, though happy, day today.... so I am off to bed - to count my many blessings ...........

Hi Julie,

It's great to see you had a wonderful day. I think you look beautiful in this photo too. (I can see what Vic sees in you!!!) I think the card your 9 year old granddaughter gave you sounded adorable!! And she sounds VERY smart too, she must get that from you...*smile*

I'll check in on YOU later,
Demara

Happy birthday yesterday!!! I would never have guessed 60! You seem so much younger! And I do love how your daughter thinks, we also celebrate anniversaries of beloved birthdays down here! It's a great way to, um, slow down the clock. You look fabulous and I admire your passion, your drive, ambition and closeness of heart. It sounds like you had a wonderful day and for that I am so glad. If you decide you need to jump out of an airplane, just let me know! I am sure you would do great!

Oh, those glads are beautiful!

I would NEVER have guessed 60! I also like the way your 9-year-old granddaughter thinks. I'll have to keep that in mind whenever my sixt..er, uh, 6th birthday comes around. (I'm hanging on tightly trying to keep those years from passing too quickly!)

I'm glad you had a wonderful day!

Congratulations on your special day! No matter how old we get, it's always wonderful to celebrate the fact that we were born--and thank the Lord for all the blessings He's given us over the years.

You are beautiful inside and out!
